Opal is quite the cutie! She looks a lot like my Marcus, but it looks like she always has something to say, like Queen Cleopatra. I love how she’s claimed the truck as her own. May I give you one suggestion? Try putting her harness under the sweater. You can find a dry cleaner in almost any city that will have a tailor who can put a buttonhole in the back of the sweaters that will let you attach the leash to the harness.
I say this because I once watched Cleopatra, who is a very experienced traveler, wiggle out of her harness in less than 5 seconds. She didn’t want to go somewhere that day, and was loose in the blink of an eye. I would hate for the same thing to happen with Opal, and for her to get lost. The harness fits better under the sweater, and is much harder to wiggle out of.
The other plus is that you can see her cute sweaters better!

Have fun on your travels!

I will definitely be taking your advice. I noticed that she can almost get out of her harness when it's over the sweater. I wasn't sure how exactly to stop that from happening so thank you!

Stopped in Quartzite Arizona and meet up with my Nana (Opals Gigi) and her Schnoodle Navigator!

Navi was so excited to meet Opie. Ope was not too fond of him. A couple sniffs but that was it! Lol

Nana and Navi live in an RV and travel the country together!

You are welcome. However, if any cat is really determined to get out of a harness, it will happen. That is because cats really have no shoulders, so they can squeeze their bodies out of harnesses more easily. You are on the right track, working with Opal to get used to the harness and leash. If she knows that you will keep her safe, she will be less likely to try an escape.
Our duo go out in harnesses with strollers, and they stay near their strollers, because they know the strollers are safe places.
Btw, we just moved away from Las Vegas, after living there for 20 years. Your pictures are bringing back memories!

Opal will be as famous as Grumpy Cat one day!

She’s such a fearless little traveller.

Do you spend long outside each time? I only ask because her skin is so delicate and needs protection from the sun. Looks like you are out in the cooler parts of the day though, but the looks of the light and shadows.

Opal is a lucky girl seeing all these fantastic places!

Not more than a few minutes. For now. But I'm getting her shirts and stuff and I'm also going to get his Kitty Sunscreen because she likes to sunbathe a lot.
