I don't know if I really need kitten insurance but I wanted to ask the pros LOL.
Do you have it?
Would you suggest it?
What plans are best?

I've been doing a lot of reading but I'm still not sure. Especially when there is no routine coverage.... that seems silly to me.
Help!

@GMPLAX23 I do not have pet insurance. I've inquired a few times but it seemed confusing to me...different companies out there and I had some kittens at the time and some over a year old and two years old. So many different rules. My husband inquired making phone calls a few years ago, but it was just decided to not get the insurance.

I know some members have insurance and hopefully they will chime in and shed better light on the subject for you.

@GMPLAX23 , no Insuramce here
I looked in to it and read the small fine print of pre existing conditions , required vaccinations ( I am not into over vaccinating ) , dental stuff etc..

Recently a membed posted their kitites claim is in dispute and everything can /seems to be pre existing .
I have read this a lot -

*** Get a copy of your kitties vet chart notes before buying insurance - read it -
Then compare It to the contracts you are looking at and see if your gut says anything in thr chart could be " pre existing)
Sniffles , watery eyes , heart murmur , etc
Believe me I have seen wrong chart notes ! And other kitties records in my pets files!

** Insurance is an individual choice for each pets unique circumstances -

It was like buying a car when I called companies for details - negotiating offering the moon with multi pet discounts etc - I asked for a copy /email of the actual contract not just the lead ad

I did the math for my circumstances -
Added all my vet bills for nearly 5o yrs to date- with dogs , cats ,rabbits etc

Multipled # of pets x monthly premium x number of years
That adds up to a whole lot of money over time

Amd waaaay more than the total vet bills for nearly 50 yrs

For me it wasn't a good fit
It is a very individual thing amd truly based on what is already on file - they want copies / waiting periods etc

Lots to consider - you will get pros amd come to choose what is best for you

I started a slush fund - automatically taken out of check and out in savings
I tuck a care credit card in k taller for emergencies
