@tontiangel , Tobylove is first up in the morning for food and running around meowing for food. I upped his furosemide to 1/2 pill 3x's a day.
he has a 2-3 second once cough at usually 130 am.
Since the increase dosage breathing rate better, less night coughing, and he is totally running around like a kitten, even grooming Batman and ClaireBare. then he wants to run on his exercise wheel at 2 am. I tell him go sloow , go slow, and he walks and talks. letting him enjoy his favs.
taking each precious moment with a smile and a warm heart of my little warrior Tobylove.
@Cleopatra Beers , thank you so much for the photo resizer link. I was so sad not to be able to share pics. thank you. here is Tobylove photo shoot. My strong boy warrior
4 months in on the journey with my strong boy Tobylove
He eats, plays, is active but does cough a few times for a few seconds at night.
I increased his furosemide (never heard back from cardiologist with med questions).
Cardiologist is booked out to the end of April even for a follow up consult when I asked about adjusting meds.
going at it alone knowing the max daily dosage and some other info.
He takes his meds like a champ then wants play time. he is first up in the morning rubbing my head or feet for me to get up and feed him lol
sadly the lump on his face is growing
good news , (keeping all paws crossed, ) it is not effecting his eating wet or dry food. it is the size of a quarter .
vet palpated it and said it does not feel attached to anything.
Tobylove was a busy buddy yesterday when I stripped the bed , he helped me change sheets and quilt.
I turned and saw him strolling on his cat wheel talking to me . heck, let him enjoy what he loves.
oh, and yesterday Linda sent a `14th birthday package for Claire Bare to share with her underlings Batman and Tobylove, Macie Mae.
a beautiful cuddle sac, toys, wool balls (tobylove quickly played with) and a whole bunch of pushup treats.
well, Claire Bare hogged the adorable hand made cuddle sac till 11 pm ! then she "allowed" Tobylove to enjoy it. He has been in the cuddle sac watching TV, having his breakfast and surprisingly Claire Bare is not complaining her prissy prissness. heck, skipping spaday today and let him enjoy
his tv and toys. (now if I could figure out the photoresizer to rotate it correctly). they are both watching TV
Tobylove and I enjoying living in the moment filled with love and fun.
Very glad to hear Tobylove is enjoying life, inc helping you make the bed! Love the picture , they look so contented. Sending positive vibes for all of you x
@Toa and Ross , thank you... really need positive vibes today.
I had a rough couple of hours mid morning with Tobylove . he started coughing several times for a few seconds each .
This morning it was his regular time for his newly added vetmedin dose when the coughing started. . I gave him vetmedin and 20 minutes later a 1/2 dose of furosemide.
he slept with his head in my hand on my pillow.
He woke up, jumped up ran like a kitten up the cat tree, came back rubbed my hair , used the litter box and wanted to play with his fav furry toy. He ate 2 bowls of wet food and watched TV, breathing rate improved., still not great though. my vet in the past gave me instructions if coughing more to do 1/2 furosemide every 6 hours for 3 days.
He is very alert, acting his normal fun self now and not coughing, giving me head bumps and Tobylove kisses. He just rearranged the blankies with some force to get it just right, snuggled in with Batman after his 2 bowls of wet food.
Tobylove knows nothing but a life full of love , what more could any living being want . Im so glad to hear that he otherwise seems so happy. Thinking of you especially during the tough times
im thinking about you all so much
I’m so sorry for the scary moments
Sounds good that your vet talked to cardiologist so you feel you have a team and not alone
Hoping this is a one off event. Argghh. In TobyLove’s case the alarm is warranted but for sure he is your warrior. Toni had this bought of reverse sneezing. I aged at least a year in the day and a half it went on. I recorded it. My vet friend said to bring her in Monday but by then it stopped. Showed it to cardiologist last Friday. He thought nothing of concern considering scan. Maybe not for him….My comfort comes to you.
