Hey guys, long time no speak! I've been working hard at school so I keep forgetting to check in :(. Monty has been doing great, he volunteered with my at a student mental health fair and let stressed students give him cuddles and lovin'. He was such a good boy, I'm training him to be a therapy cat. Once he turns one we will go take the exam.

I just had a quick question for you guys; his left eye has always been a teeny bit more watery and reflective than the other. He has been to two different vets and a vet technician watched him for a week while I was on vacation and they said he was perfectly healthy. Based on this site I figured it was just some residual herpes virus and I give him some L-lysine every day (about a gram). It helps but doesn't completely solve the issue... Could anyone suggest some drops or something? Monty is happy and healthy (and won't stop moving) but I'd do anything to make him as perfectly healthy as humanly possible.

Also a helpful update on curing the bloody/diarrhea poos. Yoda mom was totally right on keeping them on soft food, she's a genius! Monty eats Wellness brand wet food (1 can a day) and eats four little teeny chicken cutlets. Sometimes I give him a little handful of dry food now and again and it does no harm (I'm a poor university student who sometimes doesn't even get to eat chicken anymore to feed her sphynx baby so sometimes he needs to eat "commoner" food like the rest of us :p) .

Hope all of your sphynxs are happy and healthy! Plus if anyone has any random dog/fur cat health questions I'm happy to help! I'm working to become a vet and work in clinics all summer, I'd be happy to ask my friends who work there for you... Sphynx cats however no one seems to know much about :p

Just waving hello and glad to hear about your Monty becoming a therapy cat!

Sorry to hear about his eye though. I wish I had advice... sadly not.

Sending you positive thoughts!

Glad to hear all is well! I did a quick search here on the site "watery eyes" and found these threads, please read thru them and perhaps there is a recommendation on drops. Search Results for Query: watery eyes what drops to use | Sphynxlair :)

There is an exam criteria on the therapeutic paws website! Plus monty walks on a leash, sits and will be flipped onto his back. They need to be well handled!

@Kaitlyn Ramsay , hi! So good to hear from you and see handsome Monty!
What a wonderful ambassador for the breed amd therapy visits will be heart touching forever-
Very proud of team Monty!
Keep up the good studies! You will be an amazing vet! Perseverance and heart :)

I remember starting out and having nothing in the fridge but a can of coffee and bananas on the counter while I looked down and smiled at the expensive dog food toys m treats :)
I swear he ate better than me

My adoptee came with a great eye ointment "Terramycin" opthalmic ointment " works wonders amd only needed to use it a few times

My dog was given "neomycin and polymyxin B and Dexamethasone" opthalmic ointment - ( Nep poly dex ) - ask vet

I keep on hand "Vetericyn VF" Opthalmic wash " too I get at chewy.com

ask vet about too

Please keep us updated on Team Monty amd give lots of head smooches! My has he grown up :)

Molly had this too... one dribbly eye, only clear tears, no other symptoms. The vet gave us drops called "iDrops" (made of hyaluronate, helps keep them moist to prevent the tearing). They helped when I put them in every few days. Then after almost a year, one day her eye was fine. No more tearing at all. It was a total mystery.
