Hey there,
I might need your opinion on Tildas skin issues. (I read the skin-tutorial ;-P)
I think it might be an allergy, but i cant find the connection in our daily habits.
These spots came during the last year, and i didnt get it tested yet. shes not touchy on these spots, but I think shes licking them sore.

- i moved two times (unfortunatley . . . )
- i often change the kitty litter brand. they are not picky ;-)
- i changed their diet from can food to raw food (mostly chicken, turkey, salmon)
- i changed my cleaning utensils, and washing gel
- i changed the shampoo (they only bath every two weeks, cause tilda gets dry skin otherwise)
- i dont put on perfume
- they never wear clothes
- both got medication to strenghen their immune system

during those changes her skin didnt get better or worse. Its also just between her legs.
do you think it could be her own body oil causing this? Since its warmer an oilier between the legs... i had a friend being 'allergic' to her own sweat o_O

help please haha
greets, Lisa

You said you have changed litters, you wouldn't be using World's best cat litter
by any chance would you? A lot of sphynx is allergic to it.
Also, I've noticed a lot of sphynx is allergic to chicken. Hope you get it
figured out. I would stop the chicken and if you use that litter to. Stop.
If you don't see improvement or getting worse, don't hesitate to go
to the Vet. You might need to anyway.

nah, im from germany theres no such litter brand here :)
Im shocked to hear that the World's best cat litter isnt the world's best cat litter haha
what a stupid name ;-P
What I didnt try yet is wooden pellet litter. I will do that.

well yes I was at the vet quite often since I have my kitties... QUITE OFTEN. But everytime it was all about Oskar so I forget to ask about tildas skin ._.
they had so much medication in their short life, so I also tried alternative natural medicine for 3 months, where its all about strenghening the immune system and self healing. It didnt help for Oskars eyes or Tildas skin, but when he's better, I will start again with detox to get rid of the antibiotics in their bodies.
I'll visit the vet soon anyways. We moved last week, so I'll give them a break for now.

thanks for the tip with the chicken-allergy. I HOPE NOT. They love chicken the most (besides fish)

It's hard with so many changes to work out what it is.

I agree lots of changes, so it is hard to determine what to rule out. I would start with litter...stick with one. If no change after a couple of weeks, try food etc. This sounds like it is going to be a long haul, but staying consistent and watching and waiting is key. I personally have had issues similar with our pink boy when I washed his blankets and used too much laundry detergent and it must not have rinsed out properly. I also would recommend Veterycin spray/gel. It is great for skin issues of all kind.

Hey thanks for these advices :)

Well i got a cream from the vet 2 weeks ago and the bumps healed fine, no new ones were coming. I also washed als cat stuff with baby- anti- allergic washing gel.

Well so far so good, yesterday night was a shock, when i touched her belly, everything was bumpy and flaming red.
Under her arms and between the legs was the worst...
I bathed her immideately and used the cram again.
Today it was not red anymore, but the bumps still remain. Again a vet visit.
The doc told me to use the cream for 4 days again. If its not helping and occuribg again she'll send me to visit a specialist.

Im quite sure it has to do with the food.
Im barfing, like i did for half a year now.
But i started clicker training some days ago. Therefore i use cheap treats from the supermarket and dried fish from the barf shop. One of those two things might be the culprit. :-(

The vet recommended drying normal chicken meat in the oven to get some clicker treats :)

@Catzzzmeow
I'll buy the vetericyn, thank for the tip.
Do you use it just for wounds, or is it also a skin care product, for example after bathing?

I use it only when I see a flare up on the skin or a scrape from claws etc. I recommended washing your hands and then spray it on your hands so you can rub them together to get it warmer and then put on the area. The spray always seems to be cool and we know these guys don't like cold stuff...lol.

@treefoil , I use the vetericyn too
Both the hydrogel and regular spray
Claire bare is very wrinkly and sleeps under covers it is like a sauna-
She gets a few tiny heat rash spots on her lower belly skin folds by her legs from time to time

I use the vetericyn like Patti mentioned and
Have a prescription of Enterderm ointment cream she came with when I adopted her.
Within a day or two it's cleared up

I only use vetericyn when I see any skin rashes
I do not use for maintenance after a bath if nothing is present on the skin that needs attention
We like hylyt shampoo and only about every 6 weeks or my kitties get too dry
I do warm water wipe downs using bday face cloths that work better than baby wipes for my kitties

Here is a link to the vetericyn to read
I like its non toxic too

http://vetericyn.com/mobile/products.php

I have used both the VF formula and regular wound skin wash
I spray it on a small round cosmetic pad and dab the area
