Hey everyone,
I just want to say thankyou to everyone who reached out about my baby Liliths skin, she 100% was allergic to chicken! Her skin has really cleared up.
However I have noticed she has a different rash from the one she has already had.
I was wondering if anyone else could relate or if you still think it could be food related ? Some are red sadly she doesn’t like me taking pictures as she’s all curled up currently .
Bless her, it’s not bothering her but I don’t want it to get any worse..
Many Thanks .

@JackieDaytona , glad you figured out the chicken allergy. you could ask vet if a PCR test would be indicated to rule out anything else maybe allergic to?
some members have shared changing protein completely to a novel protein. members will surely chime in. hugs n head smooches, following for updates.
what are you feeding Lilith now?

Could still be food related. You might look at using a limited ingredient food. You can google it to see what options are available. There are less ingredients in them so less to be allergic to. Try one that doesn’t have chicken as the primary protein since you have already seen a change for the better since you stopped giving it to them.

Everytime I speak to the vets, the convince me not to have an allergy test as it’s expensive and it might not determine fully what the allergy is.
I feed her Cannen wet food, I do have a few choices which are:
Tuna with mussels
Tuna with salmon
Tuna with crab
Ocean tuna
The only dry food I am giving her ( and it’s minimal) is Carnilove reindeer.

My next step was to take away one of the 4 flavours and see if it could be one of those ?

I haven’t changed any washing detergents or used any new cleaning spray, nor changed anything with her bathing?

Xo

@JackieDaytona , I understand what your vet says. I know members have done allergy testing with success. My vet told me I could get false positive, false negatives with the test. My vet suggested elimination diet trial like your next step .you found chicken to be a trigger and you saw improvement with change of food protein to what all appears to be fish based.. perhaps eliminate the reindeer and see if there is improvement since it is the only protein flavor on your list that is not a seafood protein. I am not a vet. You could share your next step with your vet and see if agrees with your plan.
following for updates. hugs n positive vibe head smooches

ps: brainstorming here: is the carnilove you feed the turkey and reindeer version of carnilove?
if so, I am thinking the turkey which is a poultry could be a trigger like the chicken?
