hi guys, well wee Binky has red spots all over her neck area, I am unsure on why this is happening the only thing we can think is the amount of medicine she has taken in her short life as her food is the same, but iv been reading on here that they can just become allegic to there food! The vet gave me malaseb shampoo which we have used but we can’t leave it on the recommended time the longest she will tolerate is a minute, binky hates the bath, I have been cleaning them daily with vetericyn as some r open!

It started as a few but slowly increased over a few weeks! Any advice ideas are greatly appreciated! Can stress cause this, she is on heat! Waiting on another poop test to ensure it’s clear before she is spayed fingers crossed! Thanks xx

Hi guys, well wee Binky still has these spots, it looks like there healing n then they turn brown, then ii find another one poping up! I have read everything on the site regarding skin conditions n I am wondering if it’s the litter I use world best cat litter since I got her! What u think?
Everything else is the same, I wash her blankets with sensitive washing powder, food is the same! She’s off all medication! I read that sometimes there can be link with litter! I seen that some use Dr. Elsey but I couldn’t find it in the uk!

Looking for a good sensitive natural litter in the uk if anyone knows one!

Thanks xxx

I don’t recall, but did your vet check for ringworm? We had a girl where she never got rings on her skin, but rather would scab up and then leave a brown spot/freckle. They can check real fast under a black light to see if the spots light up.

Hi guys, so an update on Binky, had to rush her to the vet she had blood coming out her ureatha, I panicked incase it was related to her getting spayed as Binky is my first kitty!

Vet said it’s a urine infection maybe due to stress of surgery, spoke about her spots he said it’s not a yeast infection n doesn’t think it’s the litter gave her a slow release antibiotic jab which will last 2 weeks so should clear up her urine infection n spot if not I Hav to go back n get a urine test, scan of bladder, scraping of spots!

God bless wee Binky she just git the all clear for her tummy issues! Hoping this will work!

Thank u so much for all ur help n advice n knowledge, u guys keep me sane, I Will be changing her litter anyways to one I seen on one of the links on here, as even it’s not the litter, prevention is better than waiting on something else happening! Lovs xxx

Poor little Binky. Glad you spotted in quickly. stress in fact can bring out UTIs and URIs. Some think this breed is fragile, but usually we see them only fragile when they are kittens. She will be fine in no time. Please update us on the skin scrape results. Your information will no doubt help a member in the future.

Hi guys, thought I just use this thread to update instead of starting another one! So it’s now December and Binky has again broke out in red spots all over her neck and armpits, it did improve on piriton but it makes her sleepy so that’s not a long term solution.

The food hills prescription also helped but she wasn’t eating a lot. Which now we think was the cause of the little shakes/ tremors! We mixed royal canine sphynx food with it which she likes but unsure if this is the cause or it’s dust mites or an irritation from something! It’s a mind field trying to work it out!

So am off to the vet today at 4pm and see what he can do today for her, but I am asking for a referral for the pet dermatologist clinic! It’s expensive but then ii know some of the things which irritates her skin n if it’s the food at all which is causing these break outs!

I read about this clinic n they seem to have great reviews! Apparently they take blood and skin scrapings and do allergy tests! Has anyone else done this, did it work n did u get an improvement!

Lovs xx

Awhh Binky
Sending positive vibes !
Keep us updated on the vet visit !

Curious does she only get the red spots during heat cycles ?
Any updates on her spay surgery - remember noooooo ketamine anesthesia ask ahead of time if they use isolfurane or similar gas anesthesia ?

(When I dealt with my boys eye I was glad I went to the specialist - one visit , problem solved amd worth the one visit vs all the regular visits trying to figure things out IMHO )

((Hugs )) n head smooches

Curious - does she wear clothes ? Some get prickle heat in those areas

Hi guys, Binky got spayed in May so she doesn’t go into heat now! Well I went to vet and he said this was the worse he had seen Binky skin! He took bloods, gave Binky a steroid n a slow releasing antibiotic shot.

He said he will give me a referral to the dermatologist no problem but he wants to test her for environmental n proteins Binky is allergic to!

So I have agreed to this n get results in a few weeks! We will see these results n he said he can make a medication shot just for Binky to see if this improves Binky skin and if it’s her food we will do a food trial! if it doesn’t improve in 2 months it is straight to a specialist n he advised well at least We will have some information n tests we can take with us as thats the first thing the specialists would need to do!

Bless thanks so much for your advice n kind words! Apart from being itchy she absolutely fine running crazy on her wheel! Xxx
