Charlie was a TNR left ear tipped ear cat that showed up in the woods adjacent to my mom's house during the holidays last year. I nick named him Charlie. (from the Charlie brown xmas movie) . He was feral. He slowly came to my mom's front door and she gave him food and water. He would never home in the house. He was ever so cautious being he had never had a real home. He would retreat to the woods in a certain spot and sleep and watch my mom. She talked to him blinking her eyes at him.
He did not show up in the past few days. My heart just knew and I feared the worst. This morning my mom's neighbor was walking his aussie and told my mom he saw a grey cat in the ditch.
. I got goosebumps because lastnight at the store there was one candle off to the side at aldi's , it was the only one of it's kind, no others in the box. it said" over the rainbow" with a big rainbow.
This morning I picked up his little soul put a rose between his paws and said a little prayer and took him to my vet for a proper cremation. Charlie being feral only knew my mom's love if even for a short while. He left this earth knowing he was loved.
I made a donation to the vet's office. I asked for it to be pawed forward to a furbaby's mum or dad whose heart is hurting too today who may have had their baby earn their angel wings today. She told me Winky boy got his wings this morning and will apply to his cremation.
May Winky boy and Charlie fly free together to rainbow's bridge sharing stories of all the love they knew in this world.
Rest in Love sweet Charlie. you live in our hearts forever. He knew love because of my mom.
Tonight I will be lighting the "over the rainbow candle "that drew to me last night for sweet Charlie.
