Last month I lost my perfect angel Batty to a car accident

I'm absolutely still inconsolable, blaming myself and so depressed. I've just never been so devastated in all my life to lose a pet, she was the one in a million perfect pet that becomes more than your best friend. Your fucking reliant on them to breathe

When will the tears and feelings of guilt ever end

So very sorry for the loss of your Batty. My heart breaks for you. Losing your best buddy is always heartbreaking but even more when you feel guilty about the way your buddy died. I know all about the guilt, I lost my girl Foxy after a terrible accident caused by me. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Keep saying to yourself you did not do it on purpose, that you wanted nothing than the best for Batty. Your pics show me Batty had a great life and was loved beyond. That is what matters the most. They hit and ran the cowards.... And I didn't get to say goodbye . It just haunts me, I hope your right and she knows how loved she was... im so sorry to hear of your loss as well it's so bloody hard ..... Thank you for your thoughts it's comforting just to know I'm not alone feeling this way

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May Batty forever find joy while playing in the meadows beyond the rainbow bridge.

Please don't blame yourself too much, easier said than done, I know... I blamed myself a lot when my boy Stan passed, thinking I missed signs of his HCM and kept overthinking. Which also got me in a really dark place.

Just know that you're currently feeling this way, because you had sooooooo much love to give. And try to find some peace in the happiness and love you shared with a creature that loved you unconditionally back.

Please do try to reach out to family, friends or loved ones if you just want to talk. Losing a pet can be really hard, even though some people might not understand the bonds people can create with their pets. You yourself know the bond is very real, and that energy radiates with your post here. And if you feel like you have nobody in the near vicinity to talk to, all paws & larians are family, so do know that people here are willing to support you and just listen, including me.

I'm so sorry for your loss! There is no easy way to lose your best friend, but that must have been beyond devastating. I recently lost my boy to HCM at the age of 6, and I've been dealings with feelings of guilt because I never had him scanned. I try to live by the philosophy that everything happens for a reason, but when something like this happens it's so very hard to apply that... We might not know why for a long time, but some day, when the grief is less raw, you might see it.

Please try to be kind to yourself and allow yourself to grieve. We are all here for you.
