So I've had my little skin babies for about 6 months now, and I'm starting to get a little bit of a rhythm, which of course immediately subjects me to imposter syndrome.

I find that I am buying a new bag of litter about every 8 weeks, I am purchasing a certain quantity of treats and toppers in that interval as well, and I'm still figuring out the right combo of food for their digestive system and preferences. But I just can't help wondering if maybe I'm not using the right quantity of litter? Too often too little...

How many cats do you have, and how often do you buy a new bag of litter? Are you on a scheduled delivery?

I was using more litter when I cleaned and dumped out the litter and now I only do that if I think it needs it. I switched to corn litter and so far so good. I like it better than clay because it feels lighter when scooping and doesn't stick to the pan so keeps the litter box cleaner. I used Dr. Elsey unscented before and it sticks to the pan so much and I felt the litter was dirty and smelly and would dump and clean it out, and I hated scooping. Now with the corn litter scooping is so much easier. I only have 1 cat so I just go to Petco when I need more litter.

We stock up on litter every chance we can score a sale. I got an email for 20% off entire purchase at PetCo this past weekend. We grabbed four 40 pound bags of Dr. Elsey’s litter and still had 3 bags in the closet. I prefer not to have a scheduled delivery and just wait for deals. I stock up enough to be blessed to wait for the deals.

@NapsAndDreams , I have 4 indoor kitties and Raven outdoor litterbox in lanai for her. I stock ufp on dr elseys unscented 40 lbs too like @Catzzzmeow . I missed the petco sale. but, I check on first time autoship discounts, (can cancel once delivered), and when chewy has spend $100 get 30 gift card on account. I check all the sites, petco, petsmart, 1800pet meds, etc and always check for free shipping. I usually have 4-5 bags on hand in garage. an extra 2 during hurricane season,

I use one bag in a large stainless flip top lid with a plastic insert garbage can, 40 lbs fits in perfect. Easy to refill. I activate foot pedal, place bag on top of open container, cut a slit in the bottom of the bag and let it pour into the container from the bottom instead of lifting it. much easier on the back.

hugs n head smooches. you are a great cat daddy!

@Yoda mom the sale was not for everyone. I was sent a coupon saying they hadn’t seen me in a while so they enticed me to go back LOL and it worked. I have been going to PetSmart which is a little closer.
