Sharing my newly acquired preloved cat book.

I find older books tend to have more informative bits like why the space between a cat’s eye and ear is sparse compared to the rest of its body. I rmb going to a vet asking why my 4mo furry kitten is “balding” there. Of course, I didn’t get a satisfactory answer. Only that nothing was wrong with my cat. Now I know better!

Anyway, I’m sharing a page for the sphynx breed.

Message me with a breed u are interested in and I’ll reply with the page about it from this book.

Is the name of the author a intended pun? Switch the first couple of letters round and you get puddy cats :0

Thanks for sharing. Fellow lover of old books here too :)

@CathyO , thank you for sharing!

Bengal cat?

I got my first Bengal many years ago when I read the book "getting to know your bengal cat". I lived in Seattle at the time. one of the pics had a pic of a cat on a glass table with a notation of owners/breeders info. I contacted her and took a ferry ride and adopted Bedazzled SGC, retiree aka Buddha Cat., who was the brother of the pic of the cat in the book.

as you can tell , I like books

That must be quite an adventure! I can imagine myself doing the same thing. It’s like a treasure hunt. That is sooo cool that your first one is the brother of the one in your book.

Our neighbour in our building has a bengal. We bonded over *drum rolls* cat toys ‘coz I was walking home with a cat toy sticking out of my grocery bags lol

So interesting how the bengal in this book looks diff now to the present day ones.

Wow it really does. It looks more like a different variant of domestic shorthair then if I’m being honest. Now they look like leopards.

@CathyO , thank you ... so neat to see and read. I love older books.

I will have to find pics of my buddha cat. here is a pic of my first adopted bengal Omar da cat... no one wanted him, he was sitting hunched in cage 2 yrs old. he was unwanted because he had an undesirable "ticked" coat coloring... I was blessed with him for nearly 18 years.

here is a pic of Macie on the right. I adopted her in the middle of the night off a craigslist ad. said cat has to go tonight moving out tomorrrow. I drove 2 hours in the rain. she was like a scared wild cat running around with screaming kid and dog. she clawed me up trying to get her in the crate. she hid under the bed for near 2 months. I worked on gaining her trust. she has come a long way.

@Yoda mom wow, they are both beautiful. I can’t believe Omar was unwanted - he looks like a proper tiger! I rmb your story of Macie. I can’t imagine what would’ve happened to her if u weren’t able to take her in.

Thank u for sharing these stories! I never tire of stories of how we end up having our naKids
