my female Milky is (I think) around 5 years old. We got her as an adult, and when we got her the breeder said she was 1.. She never gave us any papers so we dont really know for sure.

Anyway, after reading some of the threads, i was wondering if i should get her spayed? i dont want to put her under stress and any unnecessary surgury. i also am weary about her catching something at the vet's office. When she goes into heat, her and River, my male, do it.....but she does not get pregnant as he is fixed.

    It is up to you.
My Meeko got pyo last Jan at age 8.5 years old but I knew what it was.
My Coco went in heat until she was 15.
She is now 17.9 years old.
I was scared because of Meekos age and heart murmur.
It is more stress on a older cat.
How often does she go in heat?
I need to have Wrinkles altered soon.

Absolutely! I can't even describe how gross a Pyo is but I can probably find some pics of some of the ones we have removed! Just have to hunt for them in the box of old work pics.

I would do it, it could save lots of problems in the future.
As soon as Athena is done breeding we will take her.

It is nasty when you see the discharge and it smells bad from the pus.
I have seen the uterus after it has been removed.
