Show in Houston, TX Jan 4-5

Anyone going to the Houston CFA show next weekend at the GRB? If you’re in the area and have never been to a cat show this is the one to check out. It’s pretty spectator friendly. I’ll be showing Lucy and Marilyn, it’s their first show with the “big” cats. Last time they were in the kitten class.

This picture is terrible quality but I got to see a Selkirk Rex at the show today. What a gorgeous cat!

I always try to bench with the Oriental Shorthairs because I like their people. As you can tell by this outfit they share the same sense of humor we do. If I ever decide to get a furry cat I might do allergy testing to find one of these.

And my own goofball who once again wanted to sleep all day even though I let her sleep in. She perked up right when the judges called their finals. I think she got spoiled in the kitten class, she's going have to wake up and earn those ribbons in Championship!

It's a lot of fun. I wish more sphynx owners would show. There is only 1 other sphynx in Championship and 1 in Premiership at this show.

Day 2 here we go! Hopefully this one decides to wake up earlier today.

Cute Oriental! Hope today went well for your girls!

It did go well! She was much more awake today and got pulled for a final and got 2nd Best Shorthair Champion. Woohoo! So I’m really happy that she’s scoring points. I’ll post pics and video tomorrow. The sphynx in Premiership did really well this weekend and it was his first show. His owners had a blast and are already planning for the next show which is awesome too! Winning ribbons is nice but seeing more people with our breed get involved is even better.

I would love to get involved and Houston shows would be possible as there is a direct flight to Houston from the closest "city" nearby. I live in the boonies in the desert.

I'll have to look into New Mexico shows as well. But I have always wanted to show a pet and since I did a ton of begging for a Sphynx instead of the second English Bull Terrier the husband wanted I'll have to start researching cat shows now!

Oh my gosh, I just went and looked at Nigel’s pictures. He’s adorable! Those ears are awesome. I hope you do start showing and make it to Houston.
