It’s been a while since i posted ...when Luna had bad ears

Turns out she had a burst ear drum and was allergic to the ear drops
1500 dollars later...
The soloition was so simple but trying to find the soloition was so hard!

She has now got a new issue ...skin allergy!
She has eaten something over Xmas and had diareeah and her skin has broken out
It’s like elephant skin and peeling...not infected just extremely dry and flakey and very hot to touch

Vets given her a jab of steroids but am still really concerned as she hates me even touch her to put coconut oil on it

Been using coconut oil it was wondering if anyone had any ideas
My poor little baby :(

Her skin has been so awesome till now

And it’s hot to touch :(

((Hugs)))) healing vibes
Tagging @NinaGato I believe replied to a post about flaking skin awhile back

You could call your vet to give them an update amd see if the vet wants a recheck amd check temperature etc ?

Is she eating and drinking ?

Being hot to the touch makes me concerned for infection.

It looks like she really needs some a serious exfoliation but it also sounds like she is tender so I wouldn’t do that if you think it would cause pain.

You can add in some fish oil to her food to help with her skin.

There are 2 things I want you to ask your vet about.

Yeast/fungal infection
and
Mange

I don’t think it is simple dry skin and if you eliminated the allergen weeks ago kitty should have healed up better than that by now.

It’s not infection
She is so wet cause I bathed her in coconut oil

It’s dry and flakey like the other pictures

Reason for skin is food allergy

She must of got something at Xmas

It’s just dry warm like elephant skin and flakey

She usually has a beautiful shiney soft peach coat

Hi hun
I’m not gonna put the coconut oil on today as she doesn’t like me touching her

I text the vet and she said give her a prednisone tablet again and bring her in tomorrow

Skin less raw looking today but just dry and flaking off

Hi guys

Luna is all beautiful again now
She had an injection of some kind from the vets
And two doses of predinisole ...apex antiobiotocs lotion and washed her in a medicated shampoo and her skin looks Awsome

However the allergy has effected her ears again
Seems like an ongoing problem....

My baby Luna has really sensertive ears
And is allergic to most ear cleaners

I have had her ears checked but she is still flicking away at her ears

She did previously have ear infection when I got her which then resorted in her ear drum being burst
$2000 vet fee s later she has been put too sleep to check for polups...but they couldn’t find anything just the burst ear drum.....
But it turned out she was allergic to antiobiotocs in the ear also !

Anyway after long investigations with Murdock it turned out she was allergic to all the ear drops so the recommended to put antiobiotocs in a saline instead!

Whenever the vet has cleaned her ears previously saline seems to irratate her ears

However her ears are mended now after numerous visits and ear drum is healed and her ears I clear but she still shakes her head

Any good ear cleaners out there or recommendations

Tia

I recently had to take Agnes to a veterinary dermatologist for allergy testing. They had this product for sale there for all of there allergy pets. I recently ordered it off amazon and have to say it works well! They also make a shampoo that I may try once we get her allergies all figured out. Best of luck!
