Good morning all,

I have an 18month old Male Blue Mink Sphnyx. He had a vet visit two weeks ago for a sore on his back she gave him antibiotics for the week and neocort cream which is a hydrocortisone, anibiotic, anti inflam cream but can only be used for a max of 14 days. While the scabbing all came off and looked like nice skin again, i took his jacket off and he licked the spot straight away and then it appreared red again. I am not sure what else it may be. I do have aloveen shampoo i used once a week. But it seems as soon as i remove the jacket and he licks the area it looks like the photo below. HELP ME. Vets have no idea.

The yellow bit is from a dab of bedadine.

Maybe you can switch to a one rather than the sweater. I bet they naturally want to clean the area because they haven’t been able to. Is it just one spot?

He licks for abit then stops but will keep licking through the day as cats do, but the spot then appears again as photo all red.

It is just this one spot, which was infected and he was treated with antibiotic and some cream. I do take the jacket off, but then licks it until its all red and sore. I do bath him once a week with aloveen too. I am thinking its not healing or maybe its fungal??? I just want him better.

A vet has the equipment to do a proper diagnosis and treatment.

If one vet isn't providing answers, try another vet.

The vet should refer to a dermatologist also.

I've been to three.

it popped up after a vet visit and a antihistamine and cortisone shot. Vet said it was infected but noticed it doesn't seem to be healing overall every thing else is great

Believe me I know I've been to so many vets I have lost count.

A biopsy might be needed if things get worse.

Blood tests too.
