My female sphynx (4.5 mo) has been experiencing ongoing skin issues for the last month and a half. She was originally on Royal canin kitten food and after this started happening we switched her on a limited protein fish diet, but it didn’t seem to help. She’s been to the vet and he’s given her antihistamines and antibiotic injection, she improved for a bit but then it went right back to what it is now. He doesn’t want to give her steroids due to her young age. Has anyone experienced this? I’m hopeless. She gets these hives and itches at them and turns them into open sores which is why she’s wearing the head sock in the photo.

@polinagoldberg , welcoming you and your adorable baby to the family. we are here for you. hugs n positive vibes, members with experiences will surely chime in.. what is your babies name? any change to litter, do you use unscented? laundry detergent changes? if food related perhaps a novel protein like rabbit has worked for some members. @Sheldon13 , @Condo commando

Hey there @polinagoldberg

My little boy gets this exact same reaction any time he eats anything that contains wheat, soy, corn or grain. We have found most grain free cat foods keep his allergies at bay but every now and again he will have another breakout, either due to a hidden ingredient or sneaking human foods!

Hope your baby is feeling a bit better now!
