Skin issues

My cat,Igor, has had this weird rash along his spine since the day we picked him up. It started off as a small spot with red around it, and has gradually gotten worse. The vet has absolutely no idea what’s wrong, but I don’t think she is very familiar with sphynx cats to begin with. Has anybody else seen anything like this? Any information would be very helpful! We are going back to the vet on Monday.

Did the vet do a skin scraping test to rule out yeast or bacteria ?
Members will certainly chime in to help in any way .

Did vet refer Igor to specialist ? Consult with colleagues ?
Is there a a vet university to contact ?

Thank you! The vet did consult with colleagues but they didn’t really come up with anything. They’re doing a skin scrape on Monday morning! Hopefully we’ll get something out of it.

Ask to rule out any chance of uticaria pigmentosa when Igor is there Monday for skin scraping .

Someone suggested that when we first noticed it, and we started using malaseb soap, but there was no real change. But we’ll decinitely get a skin scrape, thank you!

I read another thread with photos that looked a lot like Igor’s and everyone commenting said that’s what If was, so I’ll definitely bring it us.
