Hello,

Does anybody know, what are these? All of my 5 kittens have it, even the 1-month-old kittens also have it. I already talked to the vet and they gave me a derma soap. Do you have any remedies for these? It looks like a pimple. But all 4 of my adult cats doesn't seem to have it.

@abhorsen awh... hope you get to the bottom of this skin rash issue on just the babies.
what is the one thing they have in common with food/formula? supplements? shampoos? babywipes? they may be sensitive to? do you use coconut oil? no longer recommended as it can clog pores on some kitties.

I would definitely have them checked for ringworm. It can look different on hairless animals and not look like a ring. Odd the adults do not have it if it is ringworm though.

It indeed look like pimples but then it's odd so many have it. Did you change something in the environment like detergent, new blankets?

I didn't change anything, and now my newborn kittens have it as well, I never caged my cats, but I was shocked that they got so many red rashes, I don't know if it's pimples or bite marks from when they are playing

I didn't change anything, Their shampoo is Johnson's Milk + Oats Bath, and they never seem to disappear, I already talked to the vet and they just gave me antibacterial shampoo and ointment. I tried VCO last night and today, but I am still checking if there are any changes, it doesn't seem like they are allergic to vco.

Spores from ringworm can live for 6 months, so even if they were cured from it, if one came into contact from a spore by rubbing on something etc, it can start all over again. So it might be worth having a vet test for it just to be sure. If you have a blacklight you can see if anything glows on them , but that only works bout 50% of the time in trying to diagnose so that is why it is better to have a vet check. We rescued a girl once and it presented itself like pimples. Red dots that then scabbed over.

When I went to the vet, he mentioned that it's not ringworm, it's just bite marks, but I think I know what's causing it, I look it up and say that there's a possibility that it's due to dust mites, so I already threw their cat condo. Currently, using antibacterial for their skin. Hopefully, they will be cured in a month.

Do you think it's ethical to cage them? So that they won't be able to go to dirty places in our house for the meantime? the size is Length 83x Width 58x Height 180cm

@abhorsen , hopeful you get to the bottom of this. glad vet said not ringworm. these babies can be so sensitive to things . it can be so frustrating. what shampoo did vet give you? I have used some in the past on my pups with good results .

as far as cages, my dogs are crate trained in case of hurricane evacuation. I know some members have used 2 story cat cages, but my fear is getting caught in the bars etc. I know personally of a death caused by being in crate and getting body parts stuck., or collars.

I don't know if it is from dust mites, so for me I personally would not crate. I would continue with skin shampoo and rinse really well and see if there is improvement. some skin issues can be from food , scented litters, etc.

how are they today? hugs n head smooches
