Miss Peaches has been snuggled in her new bed ALL DAY, snoozing. . . I wonder if she is just cozy or if she isn't feeling her best. She has been eating and drinking and came out to eat and say hello for a few minutes when I was laying on my bed but that's about it. Do you guys think this is normal behavior? Maybe she was just up all night playing, or maybe she just loves her new little cat cave.

Yeah, I think it's pretty normal. When I ignore Butterball he just goes to his bed and sleeps. He gets up every now and then and prowls. But if I start playing with him, it's all over. He'll be up for hours. I think cat's can sleep up to 20 hours a day.

Aww she probably does like her new bed. Sophie has some says when she sleeps a lot more than others. If everything else seems normal I'd say she's just fine!

When we go visit Grandma, Piglet sleeps almost all day. He came out for a little but, but other than that, he was in the cave.........much to the dogs dislike, sle likes sleeping ON the cave and couldn't while he was IN the cave:)

Snuffie will sleep the day away if we let her. We have to actually interact with her or keep her busy and then she will stay up. I'm the same way - if I don't stay busy then I pass out.

Whenever I buy the cats a new bed, they usually "break it in" for a while. The video of Walter on my profile page is of him right after I bought that bed for him. He literally spent 3 days in it and only got up to eat, drink and pee! If it goes on for too long, I'd make sure she's not sick, but it sounds like she's lovin' that bed!

Nofuratu and I are doing research for his latest blog "sleep warrior" and cat sleep fact- they sleep anywhere from 13 to 15 hrs a day. One of the reasons they sleelp so long is because they are one of the only species that can "cat nap".....as in have long micro naps, sometimes with an eye open. Other animals have a deep sleep and then wake up...but not cats. Also they need to sleep a long time to be active at dawn and dusk for hunting/playing.

Is the new bed heated? When nofur got a new heating pad bed from santa this christmas all the vendors at the flea market were complaining because he would stay in his bed instead of running around the market! the first time i thought he wasnt feeling well........but turns out he really just liked the new bed!

In retrospect that was an awfully silly question for me to ask. I have had cats and I know they sleep a lot but Peaches is reaching some sort of record  . I have barely seen her all day! I put this cat cave thing in my old bassinet and draped a blanket over the hole and she's been in there since last night! I guess that means she approves. She didn't keep me up all night either so that was a plus

I think she is loving that new bed! Mo seems to spend days sleeping and doesn't do much else, sometimes he is so boaring I want him to get up and entertain me! Other days he is so hyperactive all day and really gets on my nerves, he's into evrything. Then once he's used up a load of energy he goes back to sleeping for 2 or 3 days! Strange little creatures!

Sounds to me like she's happy with her new snooze space! When i go to work in the morning i leave Mug-Y under his fleecies on the bed and when I come home he's still there!1 Eventually he gets up for 'nom noms' then it's play time! :Dizzy:
