Hello everyone. I'm so excited to say I will soon finally be a proud Sphynx owner! I figured I ought to join the forum in the meantime. I've wanted a hairless my whole life and finally pulled the trigger. I was lucky enough to get chosen for an adorable Seal & White Elf Sphynx girl that we wanted. We've been watching her since she was born in April, and she finally comes home next week! The countdown has just been killing me lol.
I've done all my research on the breed, purchased everything I need for her and set up her room, now just waiting for her to come home. The only question I have is about bathing. I've been seeing quite a few people say that depending on the individual cat, Sphynx do not need bathed so frequently which can cause overproduction of oil and make them dirtier faster. I've read through the "how often do you actually bathe your Sphynx" post which was very helpful, and most here seem to do every 1-2 weeks, although a few have said every several weeks or every few months. I'm interested in hearing from those of you here who have had better success with infrequent bathing and instead doing more wipe downs. I'm curious to see how often she will actually need bathed. I understand a lot of it depends on the cat and the coloring of the cat, as lighter ones tend to show more dirt. Thanks in advance, and here are some pictures of her! Will post more once she comes home.
