Hi all,

Gabbi is nearly six months old
Up to date with all injections
Had a check up with the vet since coming home to me 2 weeks ago

I've noticed these sores on the back of her legs? (It's more on the back of the legs, where her legs bend to sit down) Is this normal for a Sphynx? I'm quite new to the breed and know what I need to, but this is something I am not sure about. (Please don't think bad of me, I honestly love my little girl and since spotting them, I'm really considering booking an appointment at the vets tomorrow for her to get seen to.) Could it be a reaction? Hot surfaces such as a radiator? Rough furniture?

Please note she has none on the front of her legs - just the back.

Please see pics below - any advice, please share!

@Elaina We have seen this several times here. Tends to be just what you are guessing. Either from a rough/hard surface or from a hot object like a radiator or cable box etc. I suggest really taking notice of your babies favorite spots and see if you come up with the source. Of course if you can't solve the mystery and it gets infected see your vet. Let us know if you figure it out.

We have the same thing on our two sphynx. I think it is friction burns from skidding around on the carpet and hardwood floor.

They just usually look red or scabby and don't cause any problems. Sometimes I use an antiseptic spray on them after bath.

It does appear to be from some sort of a surface issue. @Elaina - you can add images right in then thread as apposed to an outside source, not sure if you knew that. Here is how adding pictures into threads

Welcome to sphynxlair, good to have you. I agree with what everyone else said.
But, if your worried, of course go to the Vet.

Nigel and Yuri got these from sleeping on top of the cable box. They are like heat rashes that people get. Since we gave up cable they no longer get these as they don't sleep on a hard hot surface anymore.
