Hello from the Nudie Mamas (aka Michelle and Jessica)! It is so nice to see so many of our friends here from Instagram--many of you know us as @SphynxNudiePatootie
We are a mother daughter team, and between the two of us, own four sphynx cats!
In the fall of 2013, we brought home our very first Sphynx kitten! Like so many of you, we were excited and wanted to make sure we were doing everything right for our baby whose breed was new to us. Right away, we recognized that our hairless baby was going to need clothes to help him through the cold Minnesota winter. Our first try was a sock and that didn't go so well. He fell over and walked sideways and plain old hated it. Next, Jessica looked through everything she could find online. I noticed that she agonized and worried over every purchase for fear that they wouldn't fit. So many times, I watched her sit and pick shirts out and walk away from her computer. When she did order, the fit was always off or the fabric was terrible. We even had shirts that came off and ended up having the neck stuck around the belly. We literally ended up with a bin of ill fitting shirts. When it came to ordering with confidence, we had none and that is why we started making our own.
Over the past year, we have listened to many Sphynx owners and breeders who were also frustrated with the clothes buying experience. Many Sphynx hate clothes, have skin sensitivities, have odd shapes, have very large shapes, or other unique needs. We have listened and have tweaked our patterns, our sizing, and are very selective with our fabrics. Our goal at Sphynx Nudie Patootie is to never let our friends have bins of shirts that are unsafe or unwearable. We will work with you from the sizing stage all the way through ensuring the fit and comfort of our shirts/fleece on your baby. We are happy to make fabric recommendations, alterations, or exchange any shirt purchased from us. We want you to shop with confidence and know that we care about how our clothing fits and the quality that goes into every design.
