A few days ago, I noticed an abrasion on my kittens head. I assumed it was from play fighting with my roommates kitten. By day 2 he had about 7 or 8 of them. Day 3 he had at least 13. Day 3 we went to the vet, and he was found to have ringworm. Now...I've got a couple of questions I was hoping you folks could answer. First, he hasn't been outside in months..how could he have gotten this? Second, why don't any of my other animals have it? Third, seeing as he sleeps curled up under my covers with me near my stomach..then moves to my pillow in the morning...why don't I have it? He literally sleeps on my face in the mornings. Haha. Fourth...if my other animals and I haven't gotten it does he still need to be quarantined? He is such a playful kitten, I feel horrible locking him in the bathroom, especially making him sleep in there Fifth...Why did it spread so quickly? 3 days and he's covered? I feel so terrible that I didn't act sooner.
Background info, he's about 6 months old, not neutered yet..soon, lives with 2 inside cats and a dog kept inside as well. Up to date on shots..
Any information will be appreciated. Thank you everyone.
