Lexi has been home for a little over 24 hours now, and my boyfriend and I are leaving on a trip to Rockford tomorrow. We will only be gone until Sunday night. Here's my question:

Should I bring Lexi with us, even though she'll be in the hotel alone for half the day? Or leave her here and ask someone to come feed her and give her water? What is best for her adjusting to the new family and home?

It's just one night, I would leave her home, probably in a closed room with a litterbox and food/water and soft bed. She is so new lots of times they get confused about where the litterbox is, and you don't want to come home to that!

I would leave her home and I honestly wouldn't have anyone feed her cats are pretty good at doing that themselves. That is one of the things I love about cats you can leave for a few days and they will be ok.

So just leave dry food out for her and not worry about the wet food? How much should I leave... it's really for two days because we are leaving tomorrow morning and getting back late late late sunday night

I only give my cats soft food when I think about it. They do not get it everyday. I have one of those small feeder things from walmart holds like 1.5 lbs of food or something and that would be more then enough for 2 days. They also have water ones.

When I go away that long, I just leave out enough dry food. Since she's so new to your house, I agree with everyone else that staying home is probably best.

However, once she settles in, you can take her out and see if she is an adventurous type or not. Some cats LOVE to get out and others prefer to stay home.

I'm so happy that you finally got your sphynx!!!:Celebrate:

I took her to Petco last night to get a new harness because hers didn't fit very well, and she loved it. I also got her a new shirt that she wore proudly that said "what's not to love"

But, I will be leaving her home this morning for our trip to Rockford... I will be worried sick and missing her. Hopefully she won't get too mad at me.

So I'll be back on Monday!

A few years ago on a trip, I left my three cats home for a month (with proper care from a pet sitter.) They were absolutely fine, it didn't even seem like they missed me when I came back? So, I'm sure Lexi will be great. Have fun on your trip!
