My final biopsies came back not as good as the prelims. I will be having the rest of my thyroid out tommorow due to cancer. They are thinking I might not have to have radiation and this might be the end of it! Have to put off getting my new babies another week!
Sorry to hear this, I was so happy when they told you it was nothing. I will sure be thinking of you. Keep your chin up and just think of the new babies coming to you and you will be fine.
Aww. . . I hope tomorrow's surgery goes smoothly and you won't have to deal with any more problems. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Your new babies will be here before you know it.
Aww sorry to hear it Marna. I'll be sending good healing vibes your way. We have our fingers and paws crossed that you'll be able to get your new baby soon! xoxo
So sorry to hear this news....I hope that the surgery goes well and everything gets taken care of swiftly!! Fingers crosses with lots of positive vibes coming your way. ** BIG HUGS **
Glad they caught it early, but sorry to hear about the 2nd surgery and additional delay in getting your new babies - I know how excited you are to get them! If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers
Really sorry that there were further complications Marna. I hope the surgery is fairly straight forward. You may be in hospital for a little longer this time to have the whole thyroid taken out? Hopefully you will be back home and on the mend soon, and looking forward to those new babys. Sam
OMG--I was so tired yesterday that I fell asleep before I could do much on here. Woke up this morning to your bad news...I will be praying for you all day today, Marna. All will be ok--I just know it.
Love ya, GF!
So sorry to hear this news. I have a good friend who was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year and had the same surgery. Hers was very quick and easy. Here's hoping your surgery and recovery go as successfully as my friend's did!
Ty for all the comforting and positive thoughts! It has been a week today for the last surgery and I actually feel pretty good. I don't anticipate any problems and at least know what to expect. They think it was contained to the half of the thyroid already taken out so this is precautionary. I could have said no and taken the wait and see approach but this is the right choice for me. Don't have to be at the hospital till 60 tonite so am making a giant stew for my parents and the lady across the street who broke her hip. Love to cook and it is keeping me busy but the smell is killing me! Nothing to eat or drink!
I hope everything goes well.
How long will you have to stay there?
I never told anyone this but my husband has leukemia.
It has been in remission for 4. 5 years.
Marna, my thoughts and prayers and heart are with you. I think you made the right choice to be proactive--this is good. Better to be safe than sorry--I know my doctor clear back when they thought I had thyroid cancer told me if you have to get any cancer, this is the kind to get, as it is usually very slow growing and easy to get rid of. Still, "wait and see" wouldn't be the right choice for me either. You can take thyroid meds with no problems these days--get the cancer as far away from the rest of you as possible. God bless--will be praying for you tonight.
M2M--I completely forgot to tell you that I will also remember you and your hubby in my prayers also. Much love to you both and may he continue to stay in remission.
God bless,
Susi
