Hi everyone,

We have just arrived home from a 1 week holiday. During this time we left Wednesday at home with my partners brother (he's a great cat uncle).

When we arrived home Wednesday's uncle pointed out Wednesday had developed a rash.

I have attached pictures of this. These are about 1cm raised bumps. My initial thought was that it was a bug bited until I noticed he has a lot of these all over his body (mainly around his neck and tummy but also some on his back). We live in a unit and he is an indoor cat so he would not have been swarmed by mosquitos or anything.

Could this be a sweat rash due to it being hot and Wednesday not having a bath for a week? Could it be an allergy to something? I havnt seen him scratch it in the hour we've been home but I'M also not sure if the brown areas are scratch marks.

Please let me know if your Sphynx has experienced something similar.

@Wednesdaysmum ,hugs n head smooches to Wednesday..
here is a link that may help...

always best to vet check..
some of the small brown areas may wipe/wash off... the lumps could be a reaction..
any change of food recently from what Wednesday used to eat? change of cat litter?

following closely for updates

Ik could be a rash due to allergy. Could be something like the uncle of Wednesday using another detergent?
It also looks like bug bites. Are they other animals that can have fleas?

Hi both,

Thank you for providing your thoughts.

Wednesday has been on a raw diet since he has been with us, however while we were away Uncle was also giving him a little bit of kibble.

Thinking this may have caused a reaction as suggested, we waited a few days to see if his spots cleared up. Unfortunately no luck :(.

Wednesday was off to the vet today and given an antihistamine and a steroid injection. He was drowsy for a few hours but seems to be much happier now!

Still not sure what caused the reaction but will be keeping a close eye on it in the future!

Thanks again for your input.

Just an update

Wednesday received a Histamil + steroid injection and some ear drops, they suspect it might be ear mites.

Hes now 100% himself and happier than ever, thank you both for your help!

If you would like to see more of my little guy give his insta a follow :) Happy Halloween!
