have a 8 month old Sphynx kitten as well I just switched their food a few days ago and the kitten is having runny poo from it. I was feeding royal canin and switched to instinct. Do I need to go back to the royal canin?

I spoke to my vet earlier this week and they mentioned you have to give a spoonful of the new food with the old food and then up it to 2 spoons then 3 etc everyday instead of switching straight out to a full bowl of new food. If that makes sense?

Not sure if that’s what you’ve been doing but might help as a gradual transition?

Hope your baby is ok xxx

@THEBELLATRIX , I always try to do a slow transition over 2 weeks.. adding just a llittle bit each day till 100% change over.
with that said, I did have to do an immediate switch with no transition many years ago when Halo had a recall. took a few weeks for tummy/bumm to settle but all good.. it can take several weeks, even up to 12 weeks to see if a food is working good for our babies.
I switched off Halo and acana to Nutrisource cat and kitten food (no recalls) almost a decade ago and no skin/poo issues. touted for gut health. no vet visits.

sharing, Toby liked a 1/2 teaspoon of 100% pure canned pumpkin (no spices in ingredients, check label).. heated a a few seconds in microwave. good for poo issues. my other kitties could care less about pumpkin.

all paws crossed, please keep us updated.
