Noticed this on Ralph’s tail last night. Has anyone had experience with a fractured tail or bruises?
He is acting totally fine and even running around and playing with his brother. I talked to a vet today over the phone and she said if he is acting normally I can monitor it and see if the swelling goes down.
The vet said the bend could be a fracture or just from swelling

anyone have any experience with brusing and tail fractures?

Does look like a sprain or break. Now with COVID many vets are not encouraging check ins. I’d keep a close eye. The slightest concern of increased swelling, mobility issues I’d get a vet check right away. Nerve issues is always a concern with tail issues. Please keep us updated.

He lets me touch it. He reacts a little bit but always did before if I touched his tail. Im
Hoping the swelling goes down tonight. I have a heat pad that he’s sitting on.

I’m trying to wait because he is not in discomfort. He was running on his cat wheel today.

lost my job because of Covid and struggling so trying to only take him to the vet if he really needs it. If I sense any discomfort I will be taking him immediately
