I’m beside myself I’ve just been cleaning my church and lifted his tail and it’s red raw! I’m so upset as I’m going away on Wednesday and he’ll be having someone pop round a few times a day!

I’m going to call the vets in the morning! I feel like crying as I feel so bad for him he must be In a lot of pain

Any ideas what could be the cause?

It looks like dried poop to me too. Maybe try holding a wet cloth to it for a couple of minutes to soften it, then see if it will wipe off easily?

Hey guys,
So I took him to the vets today he has a blocked anal glad :( the vet tried to squeeze it and he was In so much pain she had to leave it and prescribed him antibiotics for 3 days and he’ll go back Friday to squeeze the rest out! Nightmare as I’m going on holiday Wednesday, but luckily I have an amazing friend who will look after him while I’m away!

@SarahShambles , kudos to getting him to the vet before your trip .

Glad he is in good hands with your friend ..

. be sure to leave your friend instructions as well your treatment wishes / treatment option approvals, even payment options with your vet for Friday’s follow up so you can have everyone on the same page for his care while you are on your trip.
(I kitty sit for a good friend and she trusts me and left me a credit card if need be for her kitties vet visits )
Positive vibes amd Head smooches

Please keep us updated .

Glad you noticed before your trip. Your friend can keep a close eye for you. When you go back to the vet, you might inquire if you should add a tablespoon of our pumpkin from the can ...not pumpkin pie filling to their wet food. This might help be a great source of fiber for your baby to possibly help avoid issues in future.

Hello there !
So glad you have this sorted so your holiday won’t be ruined with worry ! I know you will worry but you know what the problem is and that it’s being sorted !
Can your friend leave your tv on ? My Cleo loves to watch tv and now Nailah is following suit ! If the tv is left on your baby wouldn’t feel lonely between visits from your wonderful friend ! I do hope you bring her a stick of rock back ! And I like the one with the strawberry running through it lol

Can I ask how long the discolouration took to develop?

Voltaire has developed the same discolouration, but only over the last day or two, and his poops appear solid. I've tried cleaning it multiple times with some coconut oil and a warm towel, but it won't come off! He will usually sit still for me when I clean him, but he's been howling whenever I go near his bottom. Not sure if he's in pain or just embarrassed at the attention.
Would it be vet time?
