Hello, my 8 month old sphynx got an UTI a couple months ago. After that he got better but his teary eyes remain. I recently took him to the vet and she gave him a depo injection and convenia. It seemed to help for a couple weeks but his eyes are back to being teary. Any suggestions?

Just thinking that if the eyes are simply teary and no colored discharge, no sneezing etc…you might ask your vet if it might be allergies. Is your litter dusty? Maybe trying a different litter might help. @eeSphynx

No discharge nothing, just teary. I use the Dr. Elsy no scent. I don't think it's dusty. Maybe the house in general

@eeSphynx , glad no discharge. several of use dr elseys unscented too. did he have teary eyes before the UTI?

do you use scented plug ins, decorative salt lamps, candles? change of laundry detergent? use dryer sheets? fabric softeners?

did vet take a look at his eye lash line to make sure no teeny possible eyelashes turned in rule out entropion /ectropion) even though they are sphynx some can have teenie tiny hairs. just brainstorming to rule out.

did they look at his eye (stain dye test ) to make sure no superficial scratches on eye?

if allergies, you can check with your vet if chlortabs would be beneficial? that is what my vet instructed me with my TobyLove with seasonal allergies. my vet sent me to walmart for the chlortabs ($3) and dosage amount/frequency. it has same active ingredient of more expensive pet version. ** of course always check with your vet before giving any meds .

we are here for you.

btw, what is your babies name? love to see a photo

sharing the I drop vet gel my sphynx's ophthalmologist recommended for my other boys eyes. you can ask your vet if it would be beneficial for your baby.
it does not sting (I tried it,, the same company makes a people version same ingredients) I always have some on hand for my crew. It is perservative free too. no rx, I get online chewy etc

Any chance his little eyelashes are irritating his eyes? Sometimes they can curl in.
