the vet ok'd it, but.... *UPDATE*
we've decided that we want to get a second cat as a companion to kimo. i talked to my vet about it at our appointment today, and she said it was a good idea, and i should do it soon, "before he gets the chance to become territorial and possessive". kimo is 16 weeks old. he's always been around other cats, and was very bonded to laurel, so i worry that he is lonely. she also recommended another kitten, close to his own age. she said intro'ing him to another kitten would be easiest, and a kitten would adjust easiest to the rest of our crazy house. she said another kitten would also give him more confidence and will make adapting easier. we're letting kimo take things at his own pace, and i think he's doing quite well, all things considered.
i understand her logic, but i still wonder if it might be too soon. what do you think? when would be a good time to start looking for another cat/kitten? our second cat would definitely be adopted from the plethora of rescue groups in the area.
