I received a letter today from the University where I took Stella several times. At first I thought it couldn't be a bill, because I paid for each visit in full at the time of the visit. However, I remembered the receptionist at my very first visit told me that the bill could be altered later on down the road and if that happened they would notify me. I opened the letter up and saw a bunch of totals for the visits I've paid for in the past. I thought "Okay, maybe I owe another $20.00 or $30.00".

Nope. I owe $1.43

LOL It probably almost cost them that much to print the statement, get an envelope, get a stamp and send it out.

My boyfriend thinks I should send them this picture instead and say "Keep the change." Of course I'll send them the $1.43, but I thought it was amusing.

Alter the bill later on down the road????? What's up with that? I wouldn't like that set up at all.

I was definitely paraphrasing, but basically I was told it could be less or it could be more.

And maybe me thinking it could be a $20.00 or $30.00 difference is a bit much, but because I received the notification I definitely thought it would be more than $1.43, lol

:LOL::Hysterical: I agree with your boyfriend! That picture is worth WAY more than $1.43!!

I just got a similar bill from my old cell phone company because I switched carriers. My bill is for $1.85. They were such a lousy carrier and my credit is so bad anyway, that I've decided to let them chase me down for the money for a few months before I begrudgingly pay the bill. bastards.

HAHAHA!! Send them a picture of you spending $1.85 on ice cream or something.

I have members of my family who have less than perfect credit and flat out ignored statements they've received (primarily doctor visits or for outstanding loans) because they simply didn't have the money to pay for it. Because I share the same last name, I figured when I went to the University Hospital for my Brown Recluse spider bite last year they would just throw away my hospital bills and assumed I wouldn't pay for it either. After all, I've gotta be one of them, huh? (FYI: . . I paid the hospital bills. lol)

That's because there's a department that goes over charges, its alot like human medicine. If they missed something, for example an antibiotic injection, they bill it out later. It's more important for clients that receive a few thousand dollars worth of care in a single visit (such as hospitalization) than for those that visit for referral or specific problems for outbound care.

Stella, you should call and ask to pay over the phone with a check card. You'd hate to send a letter worth more than its contents.

Funny pic, btw!

That could be funny - doesn't merchant services charge something like 50 cents per transaction to the clinic??

That picture is awesome

I was actually taken to court about a year after I moved to where I live now and I never understood it. I went because I had never been sued and I didn't want to go to jail or anything. I was being sued for about $130 from a place I never heard of. So, I get to the courthouse and when it's my turn to go up, I asked the judge if she could better explain why I was there and she asked me if I ever lived at some apartment complex and moved out at this certain date. I was even more confused because I had lived here in the same apartment for a year and moved there from my hometown where I lived with my parents since I was 11. We quickly realized that they had the wrong person with the same name. Nice

They'd love that wouldn't they? It's no fun! When I worked retail during high school, I had a lady do that, but it was about $12.00 worth. There were some nickels and dimes, but I swear there were TONS of pennies. I've paid half a hair cut in change, myself lol.

Wow!! Were they very apologetic? That really sucks! I definitely would have been nervous, but a big sigh of relief would have followed after realizing it wasn't me!

I'm not sure! I guess everyone is getting Queen Anne Chocolate Covered Cherries this year. Those are always in the discount racks.
