hey guys, just a quick one, I have five dogs, and we often buy them pigs ears to chew on, I've just given the, one and in walks lucifer with one in his mouth! Chewing away very contentley, do you think these will be okay for him? Or is it a big no no, he seems to love it! TIA :)

Max gets dried chicken neck snacks (in the dog treat section!), and he loves those.

If Lucifer can tolerate the pig ear (and there is nothing but pig ear in the treat), why not??

I read it can cause GI track issues for cats and break their teeth.
It's not that great for dogs either.

@Amy31, we have several different dog chews here and cats are always trying to steal the antlers and bully horns-

- I put them up when not in doggie use
We no longer give pig ears for a few reasons to include all the small crumbs the dogs made with them and the choking hazard and if kitties get the crumbs

I would definitely no to pig ears or other dog favs for Lucifer

@Amy31 , smooches to Lucifer from me!

My kitties always go for dog chewies too!
I have seen them rub lovin on the bully horn :)

Ps- Just an FYI rawhide-.-all those cutie shapes and colors and even compressed rawhide and greenies are known to lodge in intestines -

I stick with supervised bully horn time and Dremel any edges- I only buy the solid horns with no hole on ends because they are too thin otherwise

**. Our main safest thing here for chew is the Xxl black kong- I put a few dog bones in , smear of smooth peanut butter, frozen green beans - freeze the kong and give as treat during our dinner

We use the black Goughnut sticks - come with a guarantee- not even a bite mark left on them!

Oo now that sounds fancy! I'll have to try that! Yeah he just chews it but doesn't swollow any, I only let him have it when I was there but have thrown it away! And of course told other house dwellers not to let him near haha, I cringe at the site of cat treats as I think they will cause him a bad tummy, but when the pooches and hairy cat baby's all tuck In I feel so mean! I've Christmas my cats got cat nip and dreamies, dogs got pigs ears, luce didn't even sniff the cat nip but was straight on the ears! Now I know I'll not let him near, but I need to find some good alternatives! Poor thing haha

Is there a link to the bits you use? I'm in the UK so I'm not sure if we have anything like that, is there anything I could mabey have shipped over toy wise you find handy? Sick of the same old mouse on a stick that is chewed in 3 seconds! Plus I hate the strings as I've had to fish a fair few out of his throat! Like a magician despite me hiding them when I'm not there!! Im scared of and type of string toys now :(

@Amy31 , ooh let me brain storm and get back-

Cheap straws and milk caps !
I buy craft fuzzy sticks and make my own spring toys-

I have cars hat like dog toys and dogs that steal cat toys!

Oh, today Toby cat stole my protein shake stainless wire ball!
Macie likes the cardboard insert from the coffee creamer folded like a bow tie and a grocery store paper bag
Ping pong balls too!

I call them my fun n toss toys!

I too am super careful with string toys
Toby caught his legs in the string when we were supervised playing!
He panicked, I let it fall to the floor to give I slack and his foot came out then- scary
Let me know what ideas you have too!
