Hi! I just found a mass this morning on my Neepy :( She is only about a year and a half old. She is spayed. I found two tumors under the skin relatively close to one another located just behind her front underarm on her side. They seem to be under the skin and feel like they are attached to the muscle tissue ( so they are kind of deep) Do cats young cats get lipomas? I just found them today so I am unsure of how quickly they are changing in shape/size. She is kind of chunky. I am taking her first thing to the feline specialist tomorrow, but I was curious if anyone knew what might cause tumors in a young sphynx??

Thank you!

Was she recently vaccinated? Sometimes shortly after vaccines they can get small reactive lumps that usually go away. Also it may be her lymph nodes, which could mean she is draining a little infection of some sort. The vet will certainly be able to let you know if it is. They may take a little aspirate to check it out. Better safe than sorry, hope she checks out ok!

Unfortunately she hasnt been vaccinated recently :( And the lumps I think are a little too far behind her underarm to be lymph nodes. She did get injured last week, I came home and she has a huge incision like scrape from the top of her abdomen to the bottom of her belly :Surprise: I can't figure out for the life of me how she did it, but the lumps are kind of close to that area. So i am hoping *finger crossed* it is injury related and not something else :(

When I first got Waffles (she was 4 months, about) she had a little ball under her arm, too. Research led me to believe it was a swollen lymph node because of stress. It went away after a couple of week or so and hasn't been back. I check every so often, just to be sure.

It's good that you are going to get them checked out though. You'll have to update us with what they are. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

I've attached a picture I took back when I noticed Waffles's lump. You'll have to let me know if it's similar to Neepy's lumps.

Good Luck!

I just saw this post after I posted mine (It took me a while to write my reply and find the picture) so I guess it's not the same thing I'm assuming Waffles' was.
I really hope it's nothing serious, though. Again, good luck! Keep us posted!

It could be an infection. Praying that it is not serious...

I'll be thinking of Neepy. If she is chunky, perhaps its just a fatty tumor. They are harmless as far as I know. Please keep us posted.

**Update** Took neepy to the vet this morning. They did a needle aspirate of the larger mass and we should get the results back in a few days. The vets first thought was that she did in fact bang her side up when she fell and it might just be lymph nodes. Fingers crossed!! I dont know why I didn't think of that first but the bumps didnt show up for about a week later.

Thank you for your prayers!!
