Wow time flies!!! Thought I better update everyone on my new girls.
Haley, in typical Sphynx fashion, has ENTIRELY taken over the house ROFL She's hilarious, chasing the dog around the living room, demanding breakfast at 50 am (on a good morning LOL), being the official welcome wagon for anyone who dares walk in the door - Between her and Oogie, guests haven't got a prayer Haley personality wise reminds me so much of a very special cat I had when I was in college, my Gracie was just a little dilute calico DMH that was dumped on my doorstep as a kitten when I was just a kid. For years she was my steadfast companion, I never thought I'd love another cat the way I loved Gracie until Oogie came into my life, and now Haley is really stealing my heart - Gracie was a kisser, so is Haley! Gracie loved to play with the dogs. So does Haley. Haley is Haley, and Gracie was Gracie, but Haley is bringing back so much joy and happiness, not a day goes by that she doesn't bring up happy memories of my beloved Gracie! She'll never take Gracie's place, but she's starting to fill that huge void loosing Gracie left in my heart in ways I never thought would be possible! One thing is obvious - She's on very special little cat!!!!!
As for Cali, she's remaining a bit more standoffish, and has more of the typical cat "I'm to good for you" attitude. Today was bath day - Haley took it in stride, Cali, well, lets just say I'm surprised the humane society didn't show up on my doorstep and arrest me for animal cruelty! Butterball - I think you have a solemate! Cali HATES HATES HATES bathes! We'll have to work on that problem LOL Haley wasn't terribly pleased with the bath, but she didn't try to kill me over it either LOL Oogie's never really been a huge bath cat, either, I guess my Sphynx are just weird!!!! Cali's milk bags are going down more everyday, her belly no longer drags on the ground LOL She's starting to want to come up and lay on the couch with me when I watch TV and is starting to want to be a part of the activity in the house, but she's definatly alot more timid then Haley.
I took both girls to the vet today for their initial checkup, and since I didn't recieve any proof of vaccination or even the name of the vet that was used, and the guy who gave them to me didn't remember when the last time he took them to the vet was, I went ahead and got them updated on their rabies shot and distemper shots. The vet I took them to recommended against the feline leukimea and other shots since, obviously, these cats are going to be indoor only. The vet sent them home with a clean bill of health, Haley will go back in a month to be spayed (our vet suggested it was best to really let her settle in good before putting her through surgery), Cali will go back in about 3 months to be spayed.
These girls are making my family feel complete, it sounds strange to say this, but I'm SO glad that Scarlett didn't end up working out for whatever reason (never did get a response from the rescue!), because I really feel like these girls where ment to be mine! I never planned on having 3 cats, I never expected to find TWO Sphynx that needed rescuing at the same time, this could never have been planned, yet it worked out wonderfully, and I'm so grateful it did!
