There has been recalls on alot of things that we all have in our homes from pet food, to our medicine cabinets, to our kitchens. Does that mean that we just never use these products again? How many people drive A car in the recent recall?
I do. And I most especially stop using it if it happens repeatedly over the years. (IMO, that's not learning from a mistake one has made). You'll also notice that there are no products in my house that contain xylitol and no cleaning products that are harmful to cats or dogs (preventive measures go a long way in my life). I don't leave my yarn or string out where the pets could come in contact with it (preventing linear foreign bodies), Jason doesn't buy me flowers that are toxic to pets (my favorite flower, Calla Lilies, are never purchased), etc. In a bout of irony...no, I don't eat hamburger and can't remember the last time I ate peanut butter.
I understand your logic on the multiple recalls in other areas...but I don't suppose those of us that have lost family members in a recall involving a problem with a car or someone that lost a family member to food poisoning would turn around a buy the same car or not have some withholdings from eating commonly tainted food. I thrive on improving my pets' care through the mistakes or problems others have had. That doesn't mean everyone does it, but I can try to instill this idea in others. I'd like to think that this will save pet's lives.
