Once again thank you for keeping Wilson in your thoughts, it really does mean a lot. He is still with us, it will be a year in August since his first collapse and subsequent diagnosis of cardiac arrythmias, and we really didn't expect to be blessed with much more time with him, but here we are, still taking things a day at a time, trying to ignore the cloud hanging over us , but his huge personality helps with that. We are lucky to have many days when he is "normal" (for Wilson} racing around , tapping our arm when he fancies a "good spanking" , all the quirky things that make him so special. Then the odd period where he is much quieter and sleepy. But his breathing is fine and he has a good quality of life .Before the next prescription of medication can be issued, the vet managing his condition wants to bring him in overnight again for scans, ECG etc, to see how he is, which I can understand, although it is stressful for him, including the hour long drive to the specialist centre , and if there are changes there is not a lot more than can be done.

Thank you so much. Its been almost a year now since Wilsons first collapse and we became aware of his serious heart problem. As I am typing this he is sat right by my side tapping my leg as he wants to be on my lap, not my laptop ! A privilege I didn't think Id have almost a year on, as we were warned he could die at any point. We know that is still true but right now he is happy and living his best life and that's all we can ask for .

Thank You. This morning he is a little quieter and we have noticed he doesn't seem to have as much strength in his back legs, although he is still jumping up on windows etc , no limp and does not seem in any discomfort when we gently feel his legs and hips. Such a rollercoaster !

Thank you both so much for your kind thoughts and words, it really means so much. Its been just over a year now since our boy first collapsed and we learned about his heart problem. Life did change, we don't go away now as we have to make sure he has his medications twice a day and its difficult to expect someone else to do that. But he is still with us ,still our special crazy little man and my buddy and that is something we didn't expect to be blessed with a year ago.

Thank you. In bed last night( he always sleeps with us ) I noticed his breathing sounded a little wheezy on exhalation, although this morning there is no sign of wheezing and in very other way he seems ok. Every little thing is noticed these days due to his heart condition !!

I am happy to hear he is doing well. I totally know how being observant of breathing can become a huge part of everyday living when heart issues are involved. I check several times a day. I just stay positive and know whether a heart issue or not, every day is a blessing have them in our lives.

Thank you for your replies. This morning, and during the night, his breathing seems normal, no wheezing , regular for him . Back to his usual routine, early breakfast followed by a morning poo and now trying to walk on the keyboard as I type !

Thank you for your continued thoughts. The last couple of days , Wilson has seemed a little quieter but again he has bounced back. In just under 3 weeks we have to go back to see his cardiologist for a review, which is a requirement for prescription of his medications. Fingers crossed that he will at least appear stable on his tests

Thank you once again for your continued kind words and thoughts. Wilson had a health check at the cardiologist recently . He has no signs of turbulence so risk of clotting appears to be low ( he is still on clopidogrel just in case) and the atrium , which was affected by HCM does not really seem to have enlarged significantly more. The ECG did however still show a lot of ectopic beats , secondary to the HCM and we cannot increase his dose of stall as he is too sensitive to it. The vet thinks he has just adapted to the arrhythmia but unfortunately that will carry the risk of sudden death, Although It wasn't exactly good news( we have come to terms with the fact this horrible condition is not curable ) it wasn't bad news either and last night he was enjoying a really crazy zoomie session racing around the house xx
