Don't know of any vets in that area, but I'm from Hudson County NJ. Live in Fl now. Great to have you on the Lair

Hi, Joanna, if you are willing to come to Staten Island, there is now a vet experienced with the sphynx. He's very cautious and discusses everything with me before doing anything or giving anything to my sphynx boys.

The more you know as a sphynx owner, the better and this is how I've been educating my vet!

...and welcome! :)

I lived in Weehawken for several years when I got my 2 sphynx (I also have 3 Abyssinian) and would recommend the Vets at Animal General in Edgewater. When I got my sphynx neutered they had no problems when I suggested alternate anesthesia options, and they've been very good with helping with my boy's chronic yeast issues. I don't know how much experience they have with sphynx, but they have always suggested things that mirrored what other sphynxlair members were suggesting. Dr. Tierny (sp?) is the guy I've seen the most, but I have occasionally been seen by the other vets. Also, when one of my Aby's ate a ball of thread, their internal specialist, Dr. May, was amazing.

Thanks for the suggestion! I found a great vet but will keep this one in mind if I ever need a 2nd opinion :)
