Thank you both very much. It has been such a rough time, but knowing that she is not suffering is a small reassurance. She was my baby girl and I loved her so much. We are going to take some time to grieve. I do not want to give up on the Sphynx breed, because I absolutely loved June, but it is very hard to contemplate ever getting another after the emotional turmoil we've been through.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is the hardest part of loving and sharing our lives with our beloved pets. They are our family...and the grief is so completely overwhelming when we have to say goodbye...there are no words to stop the pain you feel. Just know that we are here to help hold you up if you need us to. June knew she was loved, and that is everything. And I agree with Patti...June will send you another little soul to love. She knows that loving families are too good to waste on grief. She made you love the breed and that is quite an accomplishment for a wee little girl to do. Run free sweet baby girl!

Again, my condolences. And as others have said, one day the time will be right to bring another Sphynx into your heart. And you will love the new Sphynx is deeply as you loved June. Differently, perhaps, but justice deeply. The Sphynx breed is one that seems to inspire deep respect and a deeper love. Only those who have been close to a Sphynx understand its draw.

I'm so sorry this horrible disease stole your baby June. My heart goes out to you, I understand your grief.

So Sorry for your loss. My wife and I definitely feel your pain and send our condolences. One of our boys was stolen from us thanks to HCM and it was the most devastating thing that we had to endure in our 15 years of marriage, moreso than the loss of some of the humans in our lives. Sphynxes steal our hearts and their loss is very painful. To this day, I still get teary-eyed every day when thinking of our Gryff. The grief never goes away, but remembering the great times that you had with June will make it more tolerable. The anniversary of our losing him is coming up in a few weeks and I honestly do not know how I am going to handle it.

We understand your reservations toward the breed as we went through the same thing. Unfortunately, we elected to move onto another hairless breed, since we have another two Sphynxes that are HCM stricken and are distraught even at the thought of losing them too. In the meantime, we're managing them with meds and their scheduled scans. We plan on giving them the best lives possible until the inevitable happens. We'll probably end up with another Sphynx in the future, but at the time, we weren't ready. They definitely have a personality all their own. My best advice is just follow your heart. You will know when you are ready....and when you have those dark moments, we'll all be here for you.
