I am excited to announce that from all portraits so far, 20% of the proceeds have gone to HCM research.

This is a subject that is very close to our heart as Alfie was diagnosed with HCM at only 11 months old.

The research is being done by Kate Meurs at NCSU and she is trying to find a genetic marker in the sphynx for HCM, similar to what has been achieved for maine coons.

@zoinks this makes my heart happy. We lost our Jedi to HCM and I still ache for him and how loving he was coming out of such a rough life. He was a miracle ♡

I lost my first baby ^yoda cat^ also with severe HCM -- which also resulted in saddle thrombosis embolisms I never heard of until we lived the nightmare of heartache -horrific experiences.. I treated on baby aspirin treatment plan - I will never forget her passing in my arms..

I pray more is learned by Kate Meurs for the love of Sphynx ..
