i am currently feeding my 6 month old kitten freshpet natures fresh grain free food. She does well with the food and her stool is nice and healthy. I tried switching over to a kitten food(blue) per the vets recommendation but it did not sit well with her so went back to freshpet. Curious what others think of this food. I have also been told to try Rad Cat for raw but it is veryyyyy expensive...does anyone have any other suggestions?

Kittens need more nutrients and calories then adult cats to grow up nice and healthy. There are more additional proteins and fats amongst other things in kitten food. It generally takes a week or two for their bodies to become use to the new food unfortunately.

free food. Wet and dry. For kittens. This is a good diet. Feed wet two to three times a day. Leave dry out all the time. There is several brands out there.
Just remember, when you switch foods do it slowly so your baby's stomach
won't get upset. Mix the freshest with the new canned until you have her completely
switched.

I'm not familiar with Fresh Pet, never used it myself. Very few vets support a raw diet so they will try to get you to switch to a dry food every chance they get. I am definitely NOT a fan of Blue Buffalo. Some have had good experiences with it so great for them but it's not one I would choose. If you like the raw and wish to continue with it that should be your choice. There are more commercial options available but personally I feel making it yourself with a supplement would be a better choice. Commercial raw diets have recalls, Primal just had one, and we have no way of knowing what's in it exactly.
You can check out Alnutrin and Better in the Raw, both have websites. These are powders you add to meat or meat/bone/organ mix. More economical than commercial diets too.

I feed my Fluffy Fresh Pet crumbles. She likes them as long as I keep them sealed up tight. If you don't seal them right they do go stale after about 4 days (per packaging you can keep them for 7 days). She has good poop when she is on them and likes it the best. Some days she gets fussy and I will trade off with Friskies lamb and Rice 1x a week. My boy likes the lamb and rice better, but he mostly sticks with Purina One Sensitive Systems dry. and that's what they both munch on throughout the day, and what agrees with their stomach the best and aids with their digestion. Thankfully they have begun to sell Freshpet at Petsmart, so my grocery doesn't run out. Since you have a kitten, you can probably mix a little kitten food with it to help with the extra calories and supplements. I would just mix the two together so she gets both and that could help with her poops.
