Hi!
I am not a current sphynx owner, but I am very close to adopting my first kitten! I will be picking him up on the 26th this month and I am super excited - I've been wanting a sphynx for years. His name is going to be Vyke!
I've been doing a lot of research before I get him and making sure I have everything he needs before he gets here! I want to learn and know everything I can so I can give him his best life and make him feel really comfortable and safe in his new home!
Any advice or encouragement or anything is welcomed!!

@tbeard , so glad you joined the lair family. all paws are family. your heart must be going pitter patter with excitement! counting down your 26th gotcha day. what a handsome adorable baby Vyke, love his coloring and eyes~
will he come with brand of food he eats and using same type of litter he is used to and type of litter box?

* you may want to schedule wellness check ahead of time and bring stool sample .I have vet take a good listen to heart .
some contracts have a time period for wellness check.

be sure to kitty proof home, plants, cord blinds etc. They are cat,dog, monkey, baby all in one for life.
they are heat seekers, triple check washer and dryer before turning on. they will quickly jump on hot stove tops and mine even tried to jump in the oven!
I have to put mine up in my bedroom when I use the stove to keep all paws safe.
sphynx love blankies~ many of us get those 50"x60" throw blankets

they are lighting fast and always underfoot. I had to train myself to always look down at my feet!

The info center is a great resource as well as the top right search box for specifics. I joined here over a decade ago with my first and never looked back.
do you have other pets? if so, recommend setting up a kitty safe room and slow intros.
