Hi Friends,

I am/We are so excited to find Sphynxlair and surprised we didn’t find you sooner. We are a family of 5 with a bonded sibling pair — girl, Agatha and boy, Oskar — who are now 2 years old. We had a previous precious boy, Zeus (blue sweater), but unfortunately he somehow got heartworm (we were told the ONLY cat case in NH) at some point and passed sudden and tragically at the age of 4. Moderator Yodamom (I’m going by memory so forgive me if I’m wrong w name) quotes Chief Seattle: “There is no death, only a change of worlds." We wholly agree and we know we will meet again.

For those looking to adopt, we know the struggle and challenge of finding the right baby. There are SO many scammers, and even worse, sick kittens. Be patient (as if you have a choice) and please, please find trustworthy breeders/catteries by word-of-mouth because the pain of losing one young is heart-wrenching. It’s worth the wait and searching!

My daughter and I are thinking about making our own Sphynx shirts/sweaters…unless someone knows of a good place to find well-fitted clothing? Our girl is tiny, like 5 pounds, and nothing ever fits her right. I’d love to hear who you buy from!

I am convinced Sphynx owners are nearly as cool as the felines.

@Oskar n Aggie , welcoming your family to the lair family. precious photos. squeeze hugs sweet Zeus gained his angel wings. I share in the hurt, and yes, that is the quote that helped me thru when I lost my first at barely 2 from HCM saddle thrombosis embolism. Remember the love, soo much love. May love be what you remember most. Baby Zeus only knew your love , and that is everything.
I truly believe they send us the once to love like they knew in this world.

I have adopted 4 over the years since my first, Yodagirl gained her wings. Yes, so true so many scammers out there and sick kittens like my first. we have a great fraud tips thread and what to expect from a responsible breeder in the info center. very helpful when I was looking at ads in cyberworld.

Several of us have adopted from members here, including bonded pairs. I adopted Batman and Yoda bonded pair from a member many years ago .
we have an adoption section here on SL and I always try to help hearts align.

so neat you and your daughter thinking of making clothes. Mine go nakid ,except for photo ops, as yrs ago one nearly fell from a high place when a nail got caught on a sweater, lucky I was there to catch sweet nakid. so now just heated blanket with timer with their usual 50"x60" soft throw blankets. lol mine hated heated cat house. members will surely chime in.
