I am feeding my raw Roo and VAN and they are going really really well on it. HAve you tried that?

I am also always intimidated by your helpful posts. They always make me panic and think I hope my cats' food is balanced. However, after research I think it is because I do ground whole prey and add the Alnutrin and additional livers just in case.
No apologies needed. I wasn't mad or upset, more thankful that you've made us all aware. Just the information is at first overwhelming.
Mine loves raw roo meat. But whats VAN?
Vets All Natural. It is a mix that you add and mix with roo to make it a complete diet - along with raw bones of course.
If you Google it, The vet who created it - Dr Bruce Syme will come up, he also has a FB page and answers any questions very quickly on either site.

Found it. Thank you very much. I didn't think that you could give them grains. I understand his thoughts, if the cat was in the wild it would eat entire stomach contents of its prey which would have grain in it too. I've never tried it but will look into it, thanks again![]()
To be perfectly honest I was not sold on the grains idea myself. However I had HUGE issues with IBD, poosplosions and blood in poo and poo that stinky it could clear the house!!!!!
The grain is such a small part fo the mix that it really doesn't make up much of their diet at all. Also the grain goes through essentially whole so while they are eating grain it is not like they are consuming masses of processed grain used as fillers like most commercial foods.
I ahve to say the result speak for themselves with my boys and now you ahve to actually look to see if they ahve pooped, it only has a bit of smell when first done. Previously the smell would wake us up in the wee hours with the stink from two rooms away, not to mention they must have had very sore tummies. They also poop twice a day but were going up to 6 times each when on dry food. Nasty stuff
I have also noticed they drink less, but pee more and it is more dilute than it was, all good things. They also are not that water focused they try to climb into the toilet while you are on it any more.
since I put him on cat mince fresh from supermarket. He's gotten better, but I know this isn't a complete diet at all. I will go and get some VAN today and try him on it tomorrow. Fingers crossed he likes it
