Herpes

Hi, I have a 6 month old boy with herpes, I love him so much and would trade him, but I really want another sphynx. I just dont want her to get herpes also, is there anything you can do to protect the new cat from it? I dont want to be irresponisble and spread this disease, but I just love these cats so much I really want another one.

Are you using L Lysine?
Did you have the cat tested to see what kind of herpes it is?
It is a eye swap testand it cost about $150
Is the herpes always active?

One of my sphynx has an herpes virus in the left eye. He lives with an other sphynx, in the same room, and the same bed, and the same foos ..and so on.
The other cats never catched the herpes.
All my cats are vaccinated againts herpes, and I give lysine to the infected one.

So maybe you can have your 2nd cat living with the first without problem if you do the shots regularly and give lysine to the fist one.

My Meeko non sphynx has herpes also.
Her Lyine is a paste.
Non of my other cat have herpes.
