Hello to all you wonderful people on the Lair. I haven't had much time to post lately and have found myself behind on replying to the wonderful photos, stories and have in general, really missed being around.
I thought I would post a few pictures of my darling Pink Lady and ask a couple of questions at the same time.
Here's little Rosie, looking as cute and adorable as ever. They are mostly sleeping pictures, but I assure you, she does have plenty of energy and runs laps of the house on a regular basis. It's just so hard to keep your eyes open at the end of the day when you've spent the previous hour pretending to be a small pink horse!
Rare cuddles with Queen Cleopatra!
More sleeping shots.
Now, for my questions! I have always wanted to put Rosie on a raw meat diet, but didn't as I can not find the supplements here in Adelaide and was worried about not giving her a good balanced raw diet. However, after some sloppy poops and poor Rosie getting poop tail which really upset her, particularly the farty poops!
I gave her a mix of pumpkin and wet food for a couple of meals, then quickly transitioned her to a pre packed raw pet mince mix that I can get in my local supermarket. It's especially for cats, but doesn't list the ingredients, except that it's mostly kangaroo with added taurine and calcium. They don't have a website, so I can't look it up, which is frustrating and I can't find a suitable raw cat meat from any pet stores in our area, so don't have a lot of choice.
My questions are, firstly, is there anyone in SA or Australia that has found a raw meat prepackaged for cats and secondly, if not, do you think it's better to keep her on the raw meat, even though I don't have a full ingredient list, or should I go with tinned wet food so I know exactly what she's getting in each meal?
Also, at the moment, she gets biscuits for breakfast and raw food twice a day. Is it better to feed all raw, or keep the biscuits to balance?
The bonus for Rosie was taste, she loves it! After eyeing the raw meat with some suspicion the first feed, it was definitely a hit and now she almost shuns the biscuits , dancing around hoping I'll give her raw 3 times a day instead. Oh, and of course, no more wet farts and poop tail!
Lol, sorry, I've waffled on a bit when I'm sure I could have been more succinct! Thank you in advance for all your input.
Lea and Rosie xx
