Hi All!
Our family is seeking to adopt (likely an adult) Sphynx, Peterbald, or Oriental Shorthair cat. We have 2 kind young children (2 & 5) who both have experience with cats, plus a Chihuahua mix who mostly just wants to chill in his old age. Our household has 3 adults, including a stay-at-home parent, so somebody is almost always home.
We are on a waitlist to possibly adopt a retiring OSH adult later this summer, so both kitties will have a feline companion in addition to human & canine companions! We are seeking these particular breeds for their affectionate (velcro?!) and playful personalities. We really want a true member of our family to love on & play with, rather than an aloof housemate. I have been reading about these breeds for about 10 years and am very aware of their maintenance & health needs! We intend to have indoor-only cats and if they don't come to us fixed, we will arrange for that because we won't breed them.
We are seeking in the Western US because we live in Oregon but are in Texas until we drive back home in mid-June. There are multiple routes we can drive home that could go through just about any state west of Texas on our way home. We do have experience traveling long distances with a cat in the car.
If you have a possible cat for us, please be up front about any health or behavioral issues. They won't necessarily be deal-breakers; we just need to make sure we can take whatever it is on and get prepared (like if we need specially supplies or a vet specialist, etc.).
Thank you for considering us for your lovely sweeties!
Sincerely,
NieNie
