Natures Variety

I switched my 8 month old pup to Natures Variety Rabbit and Lamb after 5 months of having to wipe her butt after each and every BM. My vet suggested it after numerous visits ruling out all health conditions. Her stools are now firm and she is putting on weight.

I would like to switch my 2 sphynx over to this also but a bit worried. Do I need supplements? I'm not to worried about my girl but the boy might be a problem. He is super finicky. He hates to eat. I've tried every kibble and wet out there. I have to sit next to him and not let him escape. He will go days without eating if I don't force it upon him and he can't afford to lose an ounce. Does anyone have a cat that is SUPER finicky? Which brand and flavor do they seem to like the most? I'm hoping this will cut down on vomiting.

Chiffon came to me with liquid poop, I put her onthe natures Varirty instinct rabbit and forti flora. Her stool was firm and normal in just a few days. I really like the forti flora when switching diets, seems to make everything quite smooth.

I didn't even know Purina makes one of those. It doesn't say it on the bag. Which one do they make?

Oh crap again!!! So solly! Just compare the labels. I like the NV but wish the would offer one w/o veggies & fruit which do not belong in a cat's diet. I buy ground whole rab/chick etc & add Taurine.

LOL! no problem. Pretty funny though! You scared me a little. I thought I was being totally scatter brained and missing the purina label...lol

thanks for the opinion though. Now I had read that cats need the vitamins and minerals that fruits and veggies contain so they needed to be in the raw diet. That in the wild they usually get their fruit and veggie intake from eating the already digested stomach contents of the animal that they hunted. Is the inaccurate?

I feed NV raw medallions and Lilo does great on them. I know that fruits/veg aren't necessarily needed in their diet but NV raw contains only 5% of them and I assume it's for the vitamins/minerals. I mostly feed the chicken medallions but also venison, lamb, and sometimes rabbit. She LOVES the rabbit but it's quite a bit more expensive so she gets it less often. I don't supplement daily as I contacted the company and they assured me there's enough taurine but that supplementing is of course at my discretion. I do have a supplement called Kittyblooom VM900+3 (Kitty Bloom Supplements and Vitamins) that I add in occasionally but most of the time when I add something it's called Cranberry Relief and it supports a healthy urinary tract--did this ever since her urinary issue and it's been great.​

Thanks Bean. I guess I'll try feeding my boy a nugget tomorrow. Poor thing has a habit of throwing up his food at least once a week. I'm running out of options.

Just put my 3 on it 2 wks ago or so and they are doing great!! They pee less and poo is solid and not too stinky. Much better than what is was on kibble and that was on pricey stuff!!!

Good luck! I poured tuna juice (in water kind) on it to entice.... Worked like a charm.

Oh tuna juice sounds perfect! I just tried all my guys for the first time and I finally got them all to eat it except one. Im going to have to try the tuna juice tomorrow! Thanks for the idea!!
