Helllo everyone !! For the past 4 months I have been blessed with the presence of my 3 year old Sphynx Keemo !! I actually got him off of craigslist.. and I was expecting a nice family to have had him.. well it wasnt the case :[ Keems had spent his life in the slums of CT, in a freezing trailer with 5 other cats that constantly attacked him so he was confined to a cat carrier most days.. He's blind in 1 eye from being scratched at, and when the girl handed him to me he was shivering, covered in oily dirt, his ears were black, his eyes were crusted over with brown goob pouring out, he was sneezing and coughing like crazzy.. it was horrible to see what kind of condition he was in :[ i took him home, cleaned him up (he LOVES baths) took him to the vet (upper resp. infection) and he has barely left my bed ever since haha :] He is the biggest cuddler ever, he loves attention and being under the covers, he's sooo good to everything and everyone that he meets.. im so lucky to have him i cant believe anyone could even think of mistreating such an amazing cat.. anywayy ill probably be asking some questions in another post about him because he's my first sphynx haha. Thank youu :]

Oh wow!! BLESS YOU for your rescue of Keemo!!! It's so good to hear stories like this, where he is now in a happy and loving home! That is wonderful of you!! Poor baby had it rough, but now is he warm and safe with you.

Once he gets settled in, you probably will want to have him scanned for HCM with a cardiologist. If the coughing continues, you might have him checked for asthma also. I manage my kitties asthma with a daily inhaler (morning & night).

Aw, I hate to hear how he was treated. This breaks my heart.
I cannot understand how people are so mean and heartless.

Thank you everyone Im glad i found a place with so many nekkid kitty lovers ^_^ I never heard of HCM.. Ill deffinatley get it checked out !! The vet i took him too didnt really help.. she was kind of condescending if anything.. and was like "yeah he just has a URI.. heres a script for amoxicillan" no tests, nothing.
