Poor Lilly the chinchilla

Well you all remember for our daughter Shannon's birthday we got her a chinchilla? I am very sad to say that we lost poor lilly yesterday I am not sure if it was the heat or the excitement of our three nieces wanting to play with her while they where here, but yesterday morning I found her in the bottom of her cage.
Poor Shannon thinks it is her fault and cried so much, but she did very well taking care of Lilly and she grew on me so I was always checking her too.
We had a proper burial in the back yard and Shannon and her friend made a pretty grave stone with paint and some patio blocks. I am sad over poor Lilly but seeing my little girl so sad just breaks my heart.

I'm so sorry to hear about Lilly. I know you haven't had her long so Shannon must be heartbroken. Tell Shannon she did a wonderful job loving and caring for Lilly. Not all deaths can be prevented. Maybe it was Lilly's time to go. It was obvious she felt so loved and happy.

Poor Shannon and Lilly. Losing a pet can be heartbreaking for a child. I hope she finds the strength to one day open her heart again for her own special pet.

Poor Lilly and poor Shannon I lost my childhood dog when i was 11 and was devestated so i know how she feels Give her big hugs from me.

Thanks to all of you! I will take a picture of the grave her and her friend did a great job on it.
I keep finding Shannon in the back with tears. Today she went to the beach with her friend and her family hope she has fun and forgets for a while.
